The Bus Status App will be discontinued as of June 1, 2026.

Until the end of May, you may continue using the Bus Status App for delay and cancellation notifications. However, to ensure uninterrupted access to bus updates after June 1, we strongly encourage families to download the Chipmunk App today.

With the Chipmunk App, authorized student contacts can:

• Track their child’s bus in real time
•  View estimated arrival times at their bus stop
• Receive delay and cancellation notifications via push alerts

The Bus Status App only provids delay and cancellation notifications. Chipmunk delivers a more complete and informative experience for families.

Already Live — Don’t Wait

The Chipmunk App is now live and is currently sending the same delay and cancellation notifications to users’ devices.

As of June 1, 2026, the Bus Status App will no longer send notifications.

The Wayfinders Winter Walk Challenge is a four‑day (February 23-26, 2026) initiative designed to encourage students to stay active, spend time outdoors, and build healthy habits during the winter months.

The challenge is open to elementary and senior elementary students in Thunder Bay. Participation can take place during the commute to and from school, and some schools may also plan walks during the school day.

Participants have a chance to win a prize for themselves and their class. More detail can be found here.

We’re making important updates to how parents and guardians access student transportation details online. These changes are designed to enhance security, protect student privacy, and simplify the login process.

Why the Change?

To ensure that only authorized individuals can view sensitive transportation information, we’re moving to a more secure, automated system that uses verified contact information already on file with your child’s school.

How It Works (effective June 2, 2025)

Here’s how the new process works for parents and guardians:

1. Sign Up with Your Email
   Use the same email address you provided to the school for your student’s contact information to register for the updated Parent Portal.
2. Confirm Your Identity
   Our system, BusPlanner Web, will send you a validation email. Click the link in that email to confirm your identity.
3. Automatic Student Matching
   Once your account is verified, BusPlanner will automatically search for any students associated with your email address and authorized by the school for access.
4. No More Manual Entry
   You no longer need to enter your child’s OEN or date of birth. Students are automatically linked to your account based on school records.
5. Always Up to Date
   Every time you log in, BusPlanner checks for updates to your student’s transportation information and refreshes your account. These connections remain active unless the school removes your email or the student from their records.

What You Will Need to Do On or After June 2, 2025

• Visit the Parent Portal and sign up using the same email address on file at your child’s school.
• Check your inbox for the validation email and follow the link.
• Log in anytime to view secure, up-to-date transportation details.
